Why Create Memorial Benches From Metal Instead Of Wood?

For Cayde’s Bench, her family decided on a metal bench, instead of a wooden one. Wooden benches require regular maintenance and are prone to sagging. They also wear out quickly overtime.

Metal memorial benches are designed for optimal durability. The metal benches are cut from a single sheet of steel that is then bent into shape. This requires fewer welds for a stronger product. Powder coat is also applied to keep the metal free from rust and corrosion. You can learn more about the process here.

Memorial Bench Design Process

Our design team will work you every step of the way from the initial design to final memorial bench product.

Initial Design

Send us any ideas you have for the metal memorial bench. This can include: sketches, photos, clipart, notes, inscriptions, etc. Our team will work with you to make sure that all your design ideas are heard.

Bench Proof

Once we have created a design for the bench, a proof will be emailed to you. This will give you a chance to review the design and have any changes made. Once we have your approval, manufacturing the bench begins.

Final Product

The metal is laser cut to allow for precise details. It is then bent into shape and welded. Sandblast, prime, and powder coat process is applied to the memorial bench. The bench is then packaged up and shipped to you.

Memorial Bench Details

For this metal memorial bench, our designers worked with photographs, signatures, and clipart. Here is a closer look at the bench design process.

Butterfly Clipart

Our designers turned the butterfly image into a file that was capable of being laser cut.

Love Cayde Signature

Cayde’s family sent photos of her signature to incorporate into the back of the metal bench.

Portrait

Adding a portrait to the memorial bench is a beautiful way to honor a loved one. We work hard to capture even the smallest details of the hair, eyes, etc.

Honoring Your Loved One’s Memory

Cayde’s Family hopes to donate similar benches to Ronald McDonald Houses around the United States.

A special assembly was organized for the unveiling of Cayde’s Memorial Bench. The memorial bench was placed at her school, Henderson Elementary, to honor her life. She made a huge impact on her teachers and peers, and everyone that she came in contact with. You can read more about the dedication ceremony here.
